SKILLS SHORTAGE
8% of Tech Grads and 15% of the population, representing a shortage and opportunity for students. Christchurch is facing a talent shortage of 73,500 workers by 2031. Many of these will need to be in ICT powering our Supernode industries.
TECHNOLOGY SERVICES CENTRE
We are increasingly becoming the tech service centre of Australasia, with Spark opening a new headquarters, Datacom and CCL growing rapidly.
JOB READY SUPPORT
We have the Job-Ready programme at ChristchurchNZ, placing 160 International Students into Supernode businesses per year.
CONNECTED TECH COMMUNITY
We have a strong Industry cluster, offering free membership for international students enabling access to over 80 events per year, offering a mentoring programme. Our strong collaborative tech industry often recruit direct from education and networks.
